I was a little skeptical about Pro Gear Boat Rentals at first. There weren't many reviews online the prices seamed too good to be true (relatively speaking of course). Although our experience was not perfect (details below) I would highly recommend David for a lower keys rental.

We were supposed to pick up our boat on a Sunday morning at 8am. David calls me Saturday night and tells me the prior renter blew up on of the engines, so we have a 2013 Contender 28S for you - but it is brand new to us and we haven't rigged the boat yet so I need the morning to install a few items - ok cool whatever... So we get the boat around noon on Sunday and it is GORGEOUS; absolutely spotless from the cushions, to the gel coat, to the fly-by wire controls on the massive F-250s. The boat ran like a scalded dog hitting 42/43 knts running 4,400 rpm (max allowed under the contract). The only complaints I have about the boat is the Twin Garmins would randomly turn off (this happened probably 25 times over the week) and there was no hard wired VHF radio (he provided a hand held unit), and there was no Stereo so couldn't listen to music while we fished. On the day we alerted David to the issue with the electronics he came to our rental that same afternoon (23 miles north of key west) and spent an hour or two running diagnostics and replacing one of the batteries. Although this didn't fix the problem, it did get better. David also threw in a bait pin rental at no charge.
Rented 2 kayaks from Pro Gear for my 11 day stay at Venture Out resort in March 2017. Great service from David which included delivery and pickup right to/from my door step at the resort. Sure beat towing my kayak trailer 1400+ miles one way to the Keys. Very nice LiquidLogic Manta Ray Kayaks. Planning trip again to Venture Out resort next year at the end of March 2018 and would certainly rent from Pro Gear again. Thanks.
Premium equipment everything exactly as agreed upon high performance Bluewater 2550 worked flawlessly enabled a great vacation! Progear was truly the catalyst that made our vacation unforgettable!! We felt very safe fishing offshore inshore around Key West anywhere.
After the week was over, he took $100 off the price of the rental due to the issues we incurred. Again, I was very satisfied with the overall experience given the ordeal he had to go thru to make it happen for us. I would highly recommend David and Pro Gear Boat Rentals.
